
Lucy Maud Montgomery was a famous Canadian novelist best known for writing Anne of Green Gables. She was born on 30 November 1874 in Clifton and became one of Canada’s most beloved authors.
After her mother’s death, she was raised by her grandparents on Prince Edward Island. She loved reading and writing from an early age. Montgomery worked as a teacher and later devoted herself to writing.
In 1908, she published Anne of Green Gables, a novel that became an international success. She wrote many other books featuring Anne Shirley, as well as numerous short stories and poems.
Lucy Maud Montgomery received many honors for her contribution to literature. Her books are known for their vivid descriptions of nature, imagination, friendship, and family life.
She died on 24 April 1942 in Toronto. Today, she is remembered as one of the greatest writers in Canadian literature.
